Stephanie Sibel
Armature Founder
- Reformer
- Strength Training
- Pilates Mat
- Pre and Postnatal
- 1:1 Pilates
- 1:1 Strength
Having lived in Melbourne 28 years, Stephanie thinks she’s an Australian because she knows lots of Aussie lingo, but she’s actually a born and bred Californian. A dinky di valley girl, she grew up in 80s Los Angeles, but these days you’ll never catch her with crimped hair or shoulder pads. Find her hanging off bars or deadlifting, when she’s not thinking up fun new projects for Armature, teaching classes in all the Armature venues, being a mom or writing dance reviews.
She grew up obsessed with dance but eventually settled into fitness and Pilates in her 20s after studying degrees in English and dance. She’s done nearly every Pilates qualification available under the Antipodean sun and holds Principle Trainer level membership with the PAA (Pilates Association Australia) as well as Level IV membership with the APMA (Australian Pilates Method Association.) She’s frequently participating in ongoing education as a student as well as presenting master sessions at state and national fitness and Pilates conferences.
For a decade, she was an instructor trainer with STOTT Pilates and then Breathe Education and now delivers the National Pilates Training mat/reformer package here At Armature.
She also heads up Armature Education, providing continuing education workshops that blend Pilates and Strength Training principles for the Pilates instructor Community.
Little known fact about Stephanie:
In 2008 Hardie Grant publishers commissioned her to write a book on the Australian series of So You Think You Can Dance. It was sold nationally.
