Group Classes for Prenatal Clients
Prenatal clients are welcome to attend many group classes at Armature. They can also do Personalised Pilates throughout their entire pregnancy.
Up to 16 weeks, prenatal clients can attend any classes that they have been enjoying. There are no specific modifications at this point – it’s what an individual feels comfortable with. The only thing we don’t recommend is drastically increasing exercise or goals. Better to keep status quo or start something gentle and listen to the body in terms of energy levels and comfort.
16 weeks + pregnant clients who already have a regular Pilates practice with Armature and are comfortable with general group class formats can continue to attend Reformer Basics, all Strength Training classes and all classes on the Pilates/Yoga timetable including Springboard, Mat, Release & Restore, Yoga
Reformer Open, Reformer Classical and Reformer Strength are not suitable for pregnancy past 16 weeks.
If you are new to Armature, please discuss class options with reception or your instructors and we can advise which programs will suit your needs best.
Personalised Pilates Programs for Prenatal Clients
Many prenatal clients do a single 1:1 Personalised Pilates or Personalised Strength to learn basic “go-to”s and modifications for working in the general classes. This builds confidence and comfort for participating in these classes.
Pregnant clients are also welcome to do Personalised Pilates at any stage of their pregnancy. A 1:1 Personalised Pilates appointment is a pre-requisite for starting in a small group Personalised Pilates Session. These sessions are fully tailored to individual programs, with the instructor guiding and supporting each client in their own program.
Postnatal clients are welcome to slowly integrate back into group classes or Personalised Sessions. A 1:1 Personalised Pilates can be a good starting point back and the instructor will recommend options from there.
