Book a Class

Just because it’s called Basics, doesn’t mean it’s easy. Work on and build familiarity and strength in the fundamental reformer positions. If you are new to reformer, this is the class for you and we recommend 5-10 of these classes before going to Reformer Open. But even Armature’s experienced clients attend Reformer Basics for a solid, steady and challenging workout.

Reformer Basics are the only Reformer classes at Armature that are prenatal friendly. If you are pregnant, please attend any of the many Reformer Basics time slots.

Reformer Open has more coordination and skill challenges than Reformer Basics. It’s taught in layers, with choices of spring tensions. Dial up or dial down the options as needed and enjoy a full body, fun, varied workout. If you have not done Reformer classes before, Reformer Basics (5-10 classes) is a pre-requisite for Reformer Open.

Reformer Open is not suitable for prenatal clients past 16 weeks.

Reformer Strength uses strength principles like sets/reps, super sets and isometric holds and spends more time under tension in exercises. It is less focused on “flow” but still incorporates traditional Pilates exercises and principles. Some classes use dumbbells in the programming.

Reformer Strength is not suitable for prenatal past 16 weeks.

Reformer Classical contains exercises pulled straight out of  Joseph Pilates original reformer “Contrology” repertoire. Classes focus on these specific exercises and work on them over a 4-week program. A great challenge for clients who have been doing Reformer classes for a while and are looking for the next step.

Reformer Classical is not suitable for newbies or prenatal clients past 16 weeks.
